It did not do so well and grossed 5,271,666 out of a 20,000,000 budget. It was released on the day of the September 11 attacks. It was nominated for several worst movie categories. The single Loverboy reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100. Her 2005 album, The Emancipation of Mimi, became one of her most successful albums. Many music critics believed it was her comeback album.
